Time for Kindergarten!

Wow, Summer Break sure did fly by! I slacked on my blog all summer, hopefully I will do better this fall. Ashlyn and I had a great summer together.  Ashlyn went to the movies for the first time, and she loved it! She looks so tiny sitting in the little movie chair. Josh and I thought the best way to introduce her to the movies was to do the children's movie day at Great Escape. Since the movies are free, it wouldn't bother us if Ashlyn didn't want to sit through the whole movie. Little did we know that it was going to cost us 15 dollars in drinks and snacks for the movie. So much for a free movie!

Ashlyn had a much better social life than I did this summer. She went boating almost every weekend, and played with Aunt Jenna on a weekly basis. My Mom, Grandma, Ashlyn, and myself tried to get together weekly as well for a girls outing. Ashlyn and I were also in my best friend Michelle's wedding, but that will have to be another blog!

I forgot to mention we have a new family member, our boxer puppy Jax. Wow, is Jax a lot of work! When we first got Jax in April he was only 5 weeks old and 3 pounds. Now Jax is 5 months old and 30 pounds. He has grown sooo much! He is very hyper and needs constant supervision, but is extremely smart.  Jax is already potty trained and can do lots of tricks. Ashlyn loves to play with Jax, and they are very cute together. If only our cat Princess liked Jax as much as Ashlyn.

Yesterday, my baby girl started Kindergarten and I can't believe it. She is growing up so fast. The night before Kindergarten we read and story called "The Night Before Kindergarten". She loved the story but started getting a little nervous afterwards. She asked me lots of questions and had a very hard time falling asleep.

Her and Mommy were both big girls yesterday when I dropped her off for the first time. Neither one of us cried, but it is very sad to think she is growing up! When I picked her up she was starving! Come to find out the silly kids only ate 10 chips and a slice of apple for lunch. She said her brain didn't feel like eating, needless to say she ate the rest of her lunch on the car ride home!

She loves Kindergarten and has already made a couple of new friends. She says her teacher Ms. Harbin is the best teacher in the world. She had no trouble falling asleep last night, she was so wore out!Today was her second day of Kindergarten, and Mommy already forgot to return her homework folder to school! I am too busy worried about her looking cute in the mornings to think about homework!

Like I promised from the last few blogs, here are her T-ball pics that never got posted!

I had to add one last photo. When Ashlyn went to sleep one night this summer, she said she was going to sleep like PaPa Vernon.

Preschool Graduation

I can't believe that my baby has graduated Preschool! In a blink of an eye she went from 5 months old to 5 years old. It is very sad, yet she is about to start an exciting new chapter in her life. She looked absolutely gorgeous at her graduation and she actually got up and said her part without any hesitation. She did stumble down the stairs afterwards, but it was so crowded only half the audience saw that part.
For Mother's Day I got a new Nikon camera which I have wanted forever. Josh and Ashlyn both tell me I now take way too many pictures. I also got a new editing program, which makes the new camera even more exciting. I think it is going to take me longer to learn how to use the editing program, than it is to use the actual camera. I have played with it some and think I am starting to get the hang of it.
T-ball has been on a halt lately, but I think the rain is finally coming to a stop! Ashlyn played last night and for the first time I think she enjoyed the game 100%. It probably helped that I told her for every ball she caught her Papa Vernon would give her $10. Too bad Papa Vernon wasn't aware of the deal, at the end of the game he owed her $10. He paid his dues, but he said we were going to have to negotiate a price for next game. I took some pictures of her playing ball last night, but those will have to wait until the next blog.
I have been having to miss a lot of her games and stuff lately due to work. I was tired of missing all her activities during the week, so I decided to take a weekend only job. I am excited to be off work Monday-Friday, but sad that I have to work every Saturday and Sunday.  I know I will feel a lot better working dayshift, and only working 2 days a week.I guess I am throwing away my social life and devoting all my time to being a Kindergarten Mommy. I will end the blog with pics from her Graduation and Mother's Day.
